Hardy, gruff and solemn, the Ghostmarrow clan are fist-fighters that wade into battle armour-less and weaponless, preferring to strategically weaken a combatant’s defences rather than attacking head-on. The Ghostmarrow Clan are not worshippers of Krotusk, but instead revere the spirits of their ancestors as gods. The bones of these ancestors are worn as totems for channelling strength, granting members of this clan an almost supernatural power. As a result, the Ghostmarrow Clan are very protective over the bodies of their deceased relatives, cleaning and drying the bones immediately after death. A member of the Ghostmarrow Clan will garb himself in as many of these bones as possible, as often these bones become damaged and gradually break off in pieces during the course of an Orc’s life. Even a small piece of bone is enough to channel the power of a Ghostmarrow ancestor, and often older clan members have little left to wear except a single tooth or skull fragment. Members of this clan are highly competitive with one another, and rarely allow the opportunity to share the power they gain through personal deeds. This covetousness and protectiveness of their own individual power translates to their behaviour in and out of battle. Often members of the Ghostmarrow Clan can be seen destroying or hiding the bones of their fallen enemies in order to prevent future generations from retrieving the bones of their relatives, and becoming stronger.
The Ghostmarrow Clan once thought that Grom was their enemy, believing him to be a prophesied bringer of order and law. However, when the clan arrived at Goruul to challenge Grom in single-combat, he struck down the clan’s representative, displaying the might of chaos in the name of Krotusk. After the defeat, it quickly became clear that Grom held the best interests of the Orcs at heart, and the Ghostmarrows soon pledged their loyalty to the cause of eradicating the true force of order threatening Drobaan – Wargoth and his armies.
